Congratulations to Olga, our rider of the week! Come October 3rd, Olga will be running in her 3rd half marathon. Thanks to her hard effort, and some sweaty cross training in the CYKL studio, we think this is going to be her best race yet!

CYKL Ride of the Week!

Our CYKL Experience Blue Mountain trip was a BLAST! We rode around the Blue Mountain area (up and down those amazing hills) under sunny skies! The weekend was filled with laughs, smiles, loads of good food, and amazing accomplishments for all our riders! Saturday’s ride saw us climbing Pretty River then heading into Thornbury for a sticky bun and coffee. Sunday’s ride was an out and back to Creemore for a piece of carrot cake and a fun tailwind for the ride home!

CYKL at Blue Mountain!

Just a quick post to say that our team of 19 riders ended up raising $55,400 for the Princess Margaret Hospital and rode over 200km in this year’s Ride to Conquer Cancer!

It was an EPIC weekend! We had riders of all abilities on our team, some veterans of the RTCC and some brand new to the ride and cycling as a whole! Regardless of the numerous flat tires, our ENTIRE TEAM finished on Sunday in Niagara Falls crying, laughing, smiling and feeling proud of what they accomplished. We know that the journey over the weekend is nothing compared to what those touched by cancer are going through, but we know the money raised and awareness will help conquer cancer in our lifetime.

This year we decided to add the option of the sleeveless triathlon jersey too! Kim and I love them, not because we’re triathletes, but because they even out those pesky tan lines! Yes, we’re that vain.

CYKL’s Top Rider!

And just like that, our 6-week CYKL nutrition series is HALF OVER!



In case you missed what CYKL nutrition is ALL ABOUT here’s your quick synopsis…

Me (Kelsey) + a group of amazing and motivated people + every Monday night + great recipes and snack ideas + nutrition 101, 2.0 and beyond… sounds good, right?

Weeks two and three took us through a range of topics. We started week two by ‘debunking common nutrition and health myths’ like; how much protein is enough, will fat consumption cause heart disease, and the growing concern of should I avoid gluten!? This session was all about finding balance and clarity in a world of INFO OVERLOAD!

In session three we took it from nutrition to kitchen. After learning about how to stock a healthy pantry and where all the secret discount shops are online, we made the ‘Glowing Green CYKL’er smoothie’ which was slurped up instantly… I think it was a hit!

Just because I love you guys, I’ll share the recipe for your enjoyment.

Green Smoothie Ingredients


•        1 cup coconut water


•        ½ cup pineapple chunks


•        ½ cup mango pieces


•        ½ cup kale


•        ½ cup spinach


•        ¼ cup lime juice


•        1 Scoop of Vega One French Vanilla (or other protein powder)
