We launched the 6 Week CYKL Nutrition program with Kelsey this past Monday night! Each week we’ll be posting a little recap on what Kelsey discussed, as well as a little “nutra-quiz” to test your nutritional knowledge!

CYKL Nutrition Week 1 – Recap!

Monday night we had our awesome participants attend their first of 6 nutrition seminars with me at CYKL. After some brief introductions (which included admitting to our favourite healthy foods, as well as our most favourite guilty pleasures… *cookies and poutine*) we cut right to the heart of it all by chatting about how to enjoy a whole foods diet in a world of information and choice-overload!

Here’s a sneak peak of our hot topics from the evening:

- Is there a magic ratio of carbs vs. fat vs. protein that we should be consuming?

- Does the pH of your body matter?

- Are multivitamins effective?

- Do I diet, or shift my lifestyle once and for all?

- Should I go Paleo, Vegan, or neither?

CYKL Nutrition Week 1!

Let’s ride together! CYKL is excited to hit the road this spring, and we invite you to ride with us! The CYKL Road Club is welcoming club filled with riders who will encourage you to challenge yourself on the road twice a week!

To sign up you must purchase the CYKL Membership  at www.cykl.ca & the OCA membership at www.CNNbikes.com .

You MUST purchase both of these memberships in order to ride with us.

The Rides

Wednesday Early Morning Rides
Start time: 5:45am-7:30am
Location: High Park, meeting just inside the gates of the park off of Bloor St West
Category: A/B/C/D

Since the group will be going around the park in a loop, all abilities are welcome to do as many laps as they can complete in 90mins. There will be an option to make the loop tougher and easier if necessary, which the group leader will be able to communicate.

Objective of Ride: To complete some hill training, to push yourself to tackle the hills in highpark as best you can. Read the rest of this entry »
