Andrea Guspie joined the CYKL team a few months ago. Her energy and zest for life is contagious, her classes are killer, and now you can experience her on a more personal level.

CYKL is proud to announce CYKL One-on-One! You’ll work with Andrea (tri coach, personal trainer, 2xIronman finisher, and soon to be Ultraman’er) one-on-one to tailor your workout routine to your fitness goals! Whether you’re looking to try your hand at a 5km run, a triathlon, or maybe you just need more support achieving your 2011 fitness goals, Andrea will work with you to create a plan and program that will help you achieve success.

In order to give you a better understanding of who Andrea is and why you should train with her, here’s a mini-interview with Andrea Guspie about her passion for training and triathlons.

CYKL: Who is Andrea Guspie?

AG: I am a 33 year old tattooed goof ball who feels like a big kid every day, who happens to be a very serious personal trainer, triathlon coach, and spin/cycle
instructor.  I am an Ironman athlete, who pushes my mind an body to the limit, and I often bust out the running man for shits, and giggles (not while racing of course!).

“The halfway mark has come and gone for the Winter Base Camp and I am pleased to say it’s progressing nicely. We are now fully into the heavy training segment working more into zone 3 which is for muscular endurance. I must say this was probably one of the toughest classes I have ever taken for spin.”

3 Hour Ride, Next Sunday!

Tuesday Feb 15th marks CYKL’s 1st Year Anniversary!

Evening classes will feature Dj Barracho, cake, and beverages to celebrate a fantastically-amazing-super-doper year at CYKL!

Of course, this celebration couldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our lovely riders, yes you! We thank you for supporting and loving CYKL, and look forward to another year of kickass classes, events and good times!

CYKL and the Becel Heart&Stroke Ride for Heart want you to have a healthy heart!

CYKL is teaming up with the Becel Heart & Stroke Ride for Heart this year! We are so excited to be a part of this amazing event and cause!  “The Ride” takes you up and down the DVP in Toronto on June 5th. Proceeds from the event go towards the Heart and Stroke Foundation…Ride a Bike, Save a Life!

Have a Heart!

Nothing says Saturday good times, like our WBTP! Here’s this week’s progress report from Lana, Vitess rider & CYKL fanatic!!

CYKL: Week 5 had a 2 hour ride and some deadly core exercises taught by Andrea Guspie, Ironman and now Ultraman athlete, which portion of the day hurt more?

LD: I loved both the 2 hour ride and the core exercises from Andrea.  I liked the variations Andrea showed us and I’m always looking for new core exercises.  I do find a 2 hour ride indoors much different from outdoors – thank heavens for the tunes and the video this week was a treat.

Our schedule has changed a little!!!

If you feel like hitting snooze, but still want a great work out in the morning then join Katya at 8am, instead of 6:45am on Wednesdays!

Also, Andrea is now teaching 6:45am on Fridays for all you early birds! Better than espresso, she’ll have you sweating before the sun rise!!

And Julian takes over 9:30am on Tuesdays, while Jen rocks her TOP 40 Ride on Wednesdays at 6:45pm!

Holy moly! Lots of CYKL classes to get your sweat on!

CYKL: Week 3 of CYKL’s Winter Base Training Program, did you have any trouble sticking to your training zones for this week’s 90min ride?

LD: This week I was OK in my Zone 2 until we stood up. My heart rate would spike when standing. I need to figure out a way to fix that.
